13.Reinstalltheexpansiontankbyrstinsertingthe
hoseintothetank.Placethetankopeningover
theo-ringandpushdowntoensureaproperseal.
Installthe#10–32x1/2inchselftappingscrew
andtorqueto25in-lb(2.8N-m).
14.Fillthetransmission,attheoilllport,untilthe
oillevelis1/2–11/4inches(13–32mm)below
thetopofthellport.
ExmarkPremiumHydroOilisrecommended.
Mobil115W50isanacceptablealternative.
15.Reinstalltheoilllporttting.
16.Reinstallthetransmission.
A.Withthetransmissionbeltontheengine
pulleyandtheidlerpulley,looselyinstallthe
transmissionusingitsmountinghardware
(sevenlocations–see
Figure11)thatwas
removedinstep7E.
B.Installthetransmissionbeltonthe
transmissionpulley.
C.Installthedrivechainsontotheidlerand
transmissionsprockets.
D.Installthechainonthefrontaxlesprocket;
makingsurethefrontaxlesprocketisaligned
withsprocketonthetransmission.
E.Tightenthetransmissionmountingbolts
(sevenlocations).
F.Tensionthetransmissionbeltasstatedin

thana1/8inch(3mm)gap,thenadjustthecable
asstatedinAdjustingtheSelf-PropelDrivein
theAdjustmentssection.

Hotparticlesexhaustedduringengineoperation
mayigniteammablematerials.Firemayresult
inpersonalinjuryorpropertydamage.
DoNotrefuelorrunengineunlesssparkarrester
isinstalled.
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop.
2.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug.
3.Waitformufertocool.
4.Ifanybreaksinthescreenorweldsareobserved,
replacearrester.
5.Ifpluggingofthescreenisobserved,remove
arresterandshakelooseparticlesoutofthe
arresterandcleanscreenwithawirebrush(soak
insolventifnecessary).Reinstallarresteron
exhaustoutlet.
