Summit WM Controller WM200/2000 maintenance
WARNING!
The Summit WM Controller WM200/2000 system may not be operated in a LAN in which a DC voltage is overlaid
on the data lines, since there are still switches that connect directly without checking the supply voltage first.
Depending on the transformer at the LAN interface, voltages of up to 500 V can be induced. Such peak voltages
usually lead to destruction of the physical LAN controller's logic.
Summit WM Controller WM200/2000 (Figure 9) consists of a cassette with a cPCI backplane, SME
Blade, HME Blade module, NPE Module, power supply unit and redundant fan modules. Depending
on the power supply module used, it can operate with either 110 or 230V AC.
There is no electrical connection between the access point and the Summit WM Controller WM200/
2000. The Summit WM Controller WM200/2000 and Wireless APs communicate with each other
exclusively via the IP network. For more information, see the Summit WM User Guide.

WARNING!
HME, SME and NPE maintenance is achieved by replacing the affected parts.
Properly shutdown the system prior to performing any maintenance on the system's main processing components,
including the HME, SME, and NPE cards. For more information, see “Powering off the Summit WM Controller
WM200/2000” on page 88.
