CAUTION:
Before travelling on public roads make sure that
safety locking device safely engaged in place in
transport position.
7.4 Remove the 8 prong covers from the brackets on
the frame and slip over the rotator prongs point-
ing (fig. 7 a and 7 b).
CAUTION:
• Pay attention to section „RULES FOR
TRAFFIC“ (Chapter 14).
• In order to safeguard that the steerability
keeps to be effective, the front wheels of the
tractor must never be discharged in an ex-
cessive manner when the machine is being
towed. If required, fix ballast weights to the
front part of the tractor.
8. CHANGING-OVER FROM
TRANSPORT INTO WORKING
POSITION
8.1 Remove the 8 prong covers from the prongs
and insert in brackets on the frame
(fig. 7 b and 7 a).
8.2 Actuate hydraulic system to remove load from
the safety lock, unlock with pull cable, and lower
rotor.
CAUTION:
Only operate hydraulic folding frames if nobody is
in the slewing area.
8.3 Remove the tine arms from their "transport
mode" supports, position them on the control
shafts and secure them, using folding plugs
(fig. 8). Previously, remove dirt from shaft stubs
and tine arms.
CAUTION:
Only use original plugs 16,5x35.
8.4 Fold outside guards down (fig. 5).
9. USE OF THE MACHINE
9.1 Preselect swath width in transport position at
control rod (fig. 9).
9.2 Set machine frame horizontal by adjusting lower
link height, lower rotors to float position.
9.3 Engage PTO shaft, max. speed is 540 rpm. The
swather is designed for a standard speed of 540
rpm. Operating speed should remain 450 rpm.
9.4 When turning at the end of the field, the rotors
will be lifted to their intermediate position by ac-
tuating the hydraulic system. The lifting limiting
devices will limit both rotors at the same level.
CAUTION:
Switch off p.t.o.-shaft before unlocking lifting lim-
iting device!
CAUTION:
Operating with one sole rotor is only admissible, if
p.t.o.-shaft of unused rotor is removed!
Settings:
CAUTION:
• Before performing the following setting op-
erations, machine must be stopped. Turn off
engine and remove ignition key.
• Secure machine and tractor to prevent rolling
away.
9.5 Set operating height with crank, as required for
the job; do not set too low.
9.6 Swath forming tool may be attached in two differ-
ent levels (fig. 10).
9.7 Reaping may be influenced by turning the
control cam (fig. 11).
pos. B: tines will be actuated earlier,
the optimum for long and heavy crop.
pos. A: normal setting,
for all sorts of crops.
pos. C: tine-actuation delayed,
for short, lightweight crops.
