The Fenix E05R is a compact and powerful flashlight designed for various lighting needs. It features a Cree XP-G2 S3 white light LED with an impressive lifespan of 50,000 hours, ensuring long-term reliability. The flashlight is equipped with a built-in 320mAh Li-polymer battery, offering convenient and rechargeable power.
The Fenix E05R provides multiple output modes to suit different situations. It offers a "Burst" mode for maximum immediate illumination, as well as "High," "Med," and "Low" modes for varying levels of brightness and extended runtimes. The flashlight is designed with a hidden micro USB charging port, allowing for easy and discreet recharging of the internal battery. A metal switch serves as the primary control for both turning the light on/off and selecting the desired output level. The device also incorporates an "Instant Burst" feature for quick access to its highest output.
To turn the Fenix E05R on or off, simply press and hold the side switch for 0.5 seconds. Once the light is on, you can cycle through the different output modes (Low → Med → High) by single-clicking the side switch. For immediate maximum brightness, the "Instant Burst" function can be activated by pressing and holding the side switch for 1.2 seconds. Releasing the switch will return the light to the Low mode.
The flashlight includes a lock/unlock mechanism to prevent accidental activation. To lock the light when it's off, double-click the switch within 0.5 seconds; the light will blink twice on Low to confirm it's locked. To unlock, double-click the switch within 0.5 seconds while it's locked, and the light will unlock and activate on Low. In the locked status, any click or press of the switch will result in two one-second blinks on Low, indicating that the device is still locked.
Charging the Fenix E05R is straightforward. First, loosen the light body to reveal the Micro USB charging port. Connect the USB A socket of the charging cable to an electrical outlet and then plug the micro USB socket into the flashlight. A red indicator light will show that charging is in progress, turning green once fully charged. After charging, it's important to tighten the light head to maintain its dustproof and waterproof capabilities.
The flashlight is built with a high-efficiency lens featuring a total reflective coating, optimizing light output. Its construction uses durable A6061-T6 aluminum, finished with a premium type HAIII hard-anodized anti-abrasive coating, ensuring robustness and resistance to wear.
The Fenix E05R also incorporates an "Intelligent Overheat Protection" system. When operating in High mode for extended periods, the light can accumulate significant heat. If the temperature reaches 60°C or above, the flashlight will automatically reduce its lumen output to cool down. Once the temperature drops below 60°C, the user can then reselect the desired mode.
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the Fenix E05R, several maintenance practices are recommended. It's crucial to charge the light promptly when the battery power is low to maintain the battery's normal life. A full charge from depletion typically takes about 1 hour. For stored flashlights, recharging every four months is advised to preserve the battery's optimum performance.
Disassembling the sealed head of the flashlight is strongly discouraged, as it can cause damage and will void the warranty. Always lock the light when storing or transporting it to prevent accidental activation. Over time, the O-ring may wear out, which can affect the water seal. To maintain proper waterproofing, replace the O-ring with an approved spare when necessary.
The LED in this flashlight is not replaceable; therefore, if the LED reaches the end of its life, the entire light unit should be replaced. The manufacturer also notes that any changes to the information in the manual will result in a new version prevailing, and if an older manual was included, a new one will not be automatically sent.
The Fenix E05R is a high-intensity lighting device, and users should avoid shining the light directly into anyone's eyes to prevent damage. Extended use can cause the flashlight to accumulate heat, leading to a high surface temperature, so caution should be exercised to avoid scalding. Additionally, avoid shining the light at objects at close range to prevent burning or other hazards due to high temperatures.
