Before starting up
m CAUTION!: Special 2-stroke oil must be used for air-cooled 2-stroke engines with a
40:1 ratio. Insufficient oil will damage the engine and, in this case, void the warranty for
the motor.
FUEL MIXING TABLE
Mixing ratio: 40 parts petrol to 1 part 2-stroke oil.
Petrol 2-stroke oil
1 litre 25 ml
5 litres 125 ml
Never start or operate the chainsaw if the chain and the chain brake lever or the front
hand guard have not been properly installed. In addition, always start with the chain
brake active. Proceed as follows for this:
• Hold the saw by the front handle (4).
• Push the front hand guard (3) forwards to position (Fig. 14 Pos.3b). Open the throttle
briefly, the saw chain should not move.
• Draw the front hand guard (3) back to position (Fig.14 Pos.3a). Open the throttle, the
saw chain should move.
After filling the fuel and chain oil tanks, close the tank lid by hand.
Do not use tools to do so.
Recommended fuels
Some conventional gasolines are blended with ingredients such as alcohol or ether com-
pounds to meet the standards for clean exhaust gases. The engine runs satisfactori-
ly with all grades of gasoline, but for the purpose of self-propulsion with oxygenated
gasolines, it is best to use regular gasoline. At best, use regular unleaded fuel (max. 5%
Bio-ethanol).
Oiling of the chain and bar
Every time the fuel tank is filled with gasoline, oil must also be added to the chain oil
tank.
It is recommended to use commercial chain oil.
1. Put the machine to the side (Housing cover saw chain drive unit (17))
2. Remove the oil tank cap (14) and fuel tank cap (12).
3. Fill the chain oil tank (Fig.9/Pos.D1) to 80% with chain oil.
4. Pour the petrol-/oil mixture into the fuel tank (Fig.9/Pos.D2).
5. Close Oil tank cap (14) and fuel tank cap (12).
