TROUBLES CAUSES REMEDIES
Irregular cut
• Worn, bent or broken flails.
• Machine is not levelled with the
ground.
• Clogged material due to
excessive working speed.
• Replace.
• Level it, adjusting the flail head
hydraulic ram.
• Reduce working speed.
Machine noise
• Loose bolts
• Flail head with cracks or initiation
of damage.
• Tighten bolts
• Have it repaired in specialized
workshops.
Gearbox noise
• Lack of oil
• Worn gears
• Worn bearings
• Fill to level
• Replace
• Replace
Vibration
• Broken or worn flails
• Unbalanced flail holder shaft
• Worn flail holder shaft bearings

Premature flail wear

Breakage of roller bearings
