entirelifecycleoftheengine.

Themanufacturershallbeheldresponsibleprovidedthatthechecksand
maintenanceworkindicatedanddescribedinthismanualarecarriedout;
itshallthereforebenecessarytoprovideproofthatsuchmaintenance
workhasbeencarriedout.Non-routinemaintenanceworkmustbycarried
outbyquali󰘰edtechniciansfromworkshopsbelongingtotheFPTnetwork,
usingthetoolsandequipmentthathavebeenspeci󰘰callyprovided.

Thefollowinginformationisintendedtoencouragecautionwhenusing
theengine,soastoavoiddamagetopersonsorpropertyasaresultof
improperorincorrectbehaviour.
•
TheenginesmustonlybeusedforthepurposesdeclaredbytheMan-
ufacturer.
•
Tampering,modi󰘰cationsandtheuseofnon-originalsparepartscould
adverselyaffecttheproperoperationoftheengineanditssafetyduring
use;changesmustnotbemadetothewiringandtheunitsthatequip
theengineaswellasitsconnectionstoexternalelectricalnetworks.
•
Payattentiontotheengine'smovingparts,thoseatahightempera-
tureandthecircuitswithpressurised󰘱uids;itselectricalequipmentis
asourceofelectricalvoltageandcurrents.
•
Theexhaustgasemittedbytheengineisharmfultohealth.
•
Theenginemustonlybehandledwithsuitableliftingdevicesandusing
thespeci󰘰ceyeboltsprovidedontheengine.
•
Theenginemustnotbestartedandusedbeforesatisfyingthesafety
requirementsfortheequipmentinwhichitisinstalledandbeforeen-
suringcomplianceofthelatterwiththestandardsandlocallaws.
•
Theoperationsrequiredforguaranteeingthebeststateofuseand
preservationoftheenginemustbecarriedoutbypersonnelwithproven
experienceusinginstrumentsconsideredappropriatebyFPT.
