Charging
General
WARNING!
Danger due to connecting or disconnecting the battery while the charger is con-
nected to the grid.
This can result in serious injury and damage to property.

Before connecting/disconnecting the battery, disconnect the charger from the grid.

During operation, check that charging terminals and battery poles are properly con-
nected.

Danger if battery is not monitored.
This can result in serious injury and damage to property due to short circuits, arcs and
oxyhydrogen explosions.

Carry out a visual inspection at least once a week or as often as specified by the
battery manufacturer to ensure that the acid level in the battery is at the Max. mark.

If any of the following occur, do not start the device (or stop immediately if already in
use) and have the battery checked by an authorised workshop:
uneven acid levels and/or high water consumption in individual cells,
overheating of the battery above 55 °C (131 °F).
NOTE!
Danger from attempting to charge a faulty battery.
This can result in damage to property.

Before charging, ensure that the battery to be charged is fully functional.
Charging the bat-
tery
To start charging, proceed as follows:

Switch off engine and ignition, switch off all consumers.

Set the selector switch to the correct position (see "Setting the selector switch")

Establish connection to battery

Charger displays battery open circuit voltage

Connect charger to grid

Charger starts to charge
