How to fix a Frymaster MJ45 Fryer when the burner will not light?

  The most common cause is that the pilot light is not lit. Try lighting the pilot according to the instructions. Other possible causes include an open drain valve (ensure it's fully closed), no electrical power (verify the unit is plugged in and the circuit breaker hasn't tripped), or no gas supply (check gas line connections and cutoff valves). If these steps don't resolve the issue, the controller might be faulty. If you have a spare controller known to be good, try substituting it. If the fryer then works, order a replacement controller.

Try disconnecting the Frymaster Fryer unit from electrical power, wait at least one minute, and then reconnect the unit to the power supply and turn the controller on. If this doesn't work, the controller may have failed, and you may need to substitute the controller with one known to be good. If the fryer operates normally after the substitution, order a replacement controller.

  If the pump runs normally after resetting the thermal overload switch, the pump was overheated. Always filter with the cooking oil/shortening at or near frying temperature. Allow the pump motor to cool off for about 10 minutes after filtering two full frypots one after the other. Check the filter paper after each frypot is filtered. Replace the paper if there is a large accumulation of sediment. If the switch is loose, tighten the screws holding it in place, ensuring that when the handle is placed in the ON position, the lever on the microswitch is pressed firmly against the switch. Pump blockages are usually caused by sediment build-up in the pump due to improperly sized or installed filter paper and failure to use the crumb screen.

  First, ensure the filter paper is properly installed in the filter pan. Also, confirm that O-rings and the gasket on the Power Shower are present and in good condition. If the issue persists, the openings in the Power Shower might be plugged or have solidified shortening. Clean the Power Shower following the instructions.

  Shut the fryer down and remove any obstructions and/or accumulations of carbon in the flue. Also, shut the fryer down and clean the gas valve vent tube.

What could be the reasons, that burner does not light in Frymaster MJ45?

  The pilot light may not be lit. Light pilot per instructions. The drain valve may not be fully closed, verify drain valve is fully closed. There may be no electrical power to unit. Verify that unit is correctly plugged in and that circuit breaker is not tripped. There may be no gas being supplied to unit. Verify that the gas line connections are properly connected, that any cutoff valves between the fryer and the gas main are open, and that the main gas cutoff valve is open.
