Settings in the System Configuration
Utility
In the System Configuration Utility you can set the system functions and the hardware configuration of
the notebook. The settings can be made not only with the keyboard, but also with a mouse or
touchpad.
When it is supplied, the notebook is set to factory default settings. You can change these settings in
System Configuration Utility. Any changes you make take effect as soon as you save and quit the
System Configuration Utility.
The following menus are provided in the System Configuration Utility:
• Startup: for system settings as time, date, password and monitor selection
• Memory: for settings for the image memory (VIDEO RAM)
• Disks: for drive settings
• Components: for system settings such as ports and keyboard
• Power: for setting up the energy saving functions
• Exit: Exiting BIOS Setup
Starting the System Configuration Utility
Ê Restart the notebook (switching on/off or warm boot).
Ê When the message Press F2 to run Setup appears, press the key [F2]
[F2][F2]
[F2].

If a password has been assigned:
Ê Enter the password and press the Enter key.
Ê If you have forgotten the password, contact your system administrator or contact our
customer service center.
