Erase Disk function for hard disks and solid state d rives

Erase Disk is a solution integrated in the firmware of FU JITSU deskt ops (UEFI: Unified Extens ib le
Firmware Interface) to delete all data from a hard disk or S olid State Disc drive s (SSDs).
With this function, all data from internal or external hard disks or SSDs connected via
the eSATA port can be irretrievably deleted before the hard disks are disposed of or
the entire system is disposed of. The functioncanalsobeusedifharddisksaretobe
completely deleted, e.g. before installing a new operating system.

Delete personal data in volatile and non-volatile memories
All FUJITSU desktops store personal data in volatile and non-volatile memories. T he
main components on which this data is stored are:
• hard disks
• SSDs
In addition, there are othe r internal components (e.g. mainboard) that can con tain personal
data even when the system is switche d off and disconnected from power.
