11 Control unit or control device for bumpers
The control unit is used to constantly control the correct operation of a sensor (safety mat, safety edge or
safety bumper) through blade contacts.
Blade contact is an NO contact (normally open) which makes in case of actuation thereby causing the break
of the output contact of the control unit.
The control unit constantly checks proper operation of either the sensor and the connection circuit
One control unit is capable of controlling several sensors but cannot perform auto-diagnostics to indicate
which sensor is faulty. In case of a system consisting of several sensors, we recommend that you use a
control unit every 3 or 4 sensors.
