[] CHECK IGNITION OF SURFACE
BURNERS
Operation of all cooktop and oven burners should be
checked after the range and gas supply lines hove been
carefully checked for leaks.
Electric Ignition Models
Select a top burner knob and simultaneously push in
and turn to LITE position. You will hear a clicking sound
indicating proper operation of the spark module. Once the
air has been purged from the supply lines, burners should
light within/4 seconds. After burner lights, rotate knob out
of the LITE position. Try each burner in succession until
all burners hove been checked.
Quality of Flames
The combustion quality of burner flames needs to be
determined visually.
(A) Yellow flames-
Call for service
(B) Yellow tips on
outer cones--
Normal for LP gas
(C)Soft blue
flames--Normal
for natural gas
If burner flames look like (A),call for service. Normal
burner flames should look like (B)or (C),depending on
the type of gas you use.
With LPgas, some yellow tipping on outer cones
is normal.
[] CHECK IGNITION OF OVEN BURNER
Theoven is designedto operate quietly and automatically.
Tooperatethe oven,pressthe Bakepad andthen pressthe
numberpads until 350° appearsinthe display.Touchthe Start
pad.After BO-90seconds,the oven burnerwill igniteand burn
untilthe settemperature is reached.Theovenburnerwill
continueto cycleon and off asnecessaryto maintainthe oven
atthe temperature indicated by the display.
Tocheck ignition of the broil burner,touch the Broil Hi/Lo pad
andthen the Start pad.After B0-90 seconds,the broil burner
willignite.
Electric ignition models requireelectricalpower to operate.
Incaseof a power outage,the oven burnerson these models
cannot be litmanually with a match. Gaswill not flow unless
the glow bar ishot.
Ifthe ovenis in usewhen a power outageoccurs,the burner
willshut off and cannot berentuntil poweris restored.
