Ring Topology with Multiple Controllers
The next illustration shows a more complex network. There is one RX3i CPU node with two PNC
modules, a second RX3i CPU node with one PNC module, and five IO-Devices, in this case,
VersaMax PNS modules.
All devices are on the same network ring. One PNC is configured as the Media Redundancy
Manager (MRM); the other PNCs and all PROFINET Scanners are configured as Media
Redundancy Clients (MRCs).
