2.3 DNP3.0
2.3.1 Overview
This section describes the specific implementation of the Distributed Network Protocol (DNP 3.0) in
P253 – Motor protection relay.
It uses Triangle MicroWorks, Inc. DNP 3.0 Slave Source Code Library Version 3.17.
For information on how to communicate with P253 using DNP3.0 protocol, this document should be
read in conjunction with the DNP3.0 Basic 4 document set and the DNP Subset Definitions document.
This implementation of DNP3.0 is fully compliant with DNP3.0 Subset Definition Level 2 and contains
many Subset Level 3 features including some functionality beyond Subset Level 3.
2.3.2 DNP V3.00 Device Profile
The following table provides a “Device Profile Document” in the standard format defined in the
DNP 3.0 Subset Definition Document. While it is referred to in the DNP3.0 Subset Definition as a
“Document”, it is only a component of a total interoperability guide.
