If the door lock light is on when you want to cook with your GE Ranges, it means the oven door is locked because the temperature inside the oven hasn't dropped below the locking temperature. To fix this, press the Cancel/Off pad and allow the oven to cool down.

If your GE Ranges oven isn't working, first check the fuse or circuit breaker in your home and replace or reset it if needed. Ensure the oven controls are properly set. If a single bracket "]" appears in the display, press the Bake and Broil pads simultaneously for three seconds until "SF" appears. Then, press the Set Clock or Cook Time pad until "On" is displayed, and press Start. The display should then show the time of day.

      Kimberly DavisAug 25, 2025
If your GE Ranges coil surface units aren't working, first ensure the surface units are fully plugged into the receptacle with the controls off. Check that the correct control is set for the unit you're using. Also, make sure the drip pans are securely in the cooktop, with the opening aligned with the receptacle. Check your home's fuse or circuit breaker, and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. If the Sensi-Temp Technology sensor cap is soiled, clean it according to the range's cleaning instructions. If the Sensi-temp sensor cap is stuck or won't flex, contact a qualified technician for replacement and use only the exact replacement part.
