The table below gives the principle of evacuation of SF
6
gas apparatus and
precautions to take:
Step Action
1 De- energize apparatus, switch- off where applicable and earth.
2 Connect the servicing unit to the gas filling nipple by means of a
hose and using an adsorber filter.
3 Remove the SF
6
gas using the vacuum pump. Depending on the
gas volume ; it can be stored for re- use as per indications of IEC
standard.
4 Fill gas compartment if possible with nitrogen or dry compressed air
at rated pressure and subsequently, discharge outdoors (if possible
through an absorber filter).
