STEP 7

Pull the clevis block forward slightly and tie a long
rope to the clevis block to aid in single chain
installation.
STEP 8

Use a crowfoot wrench with a long extension to reach
in and loosen the locking nut on the clevis. Once the
locking nut is loosened, push the clevis forward and
remove both nuts from the clevis.
STEP 9
Remove the single chain by pulling out from the rear
of the boom. Remove the rope from the single chain
clevis, and leave the rope in place for single chain
installation.
NOTE:
Check the condition of the sheave and roller
bearing at this time. Proceed to Step 26 if repair is
required.

Remove the adjustment clevis from the old chain by
removing one cotter pin and the retainer pin.
STEP 11

Remove the clevis block from the old chain by
removing one cotter pin and the retainer pin.
