Overview

The GEPRC MARK5 is a new generation freestyle drone designed for an optimal flying experience, available in HD AIR UNIT, HD VISTA, and Analog versions. It is engineered for freestyle flying with a wide X-arm design, providing stability and resilience.

Function Description:

The MARK5 is a high-performance quadcopter built for freestyle flying and bando-bashing. It integrates advanced electronic systems within a unique shock-absorbing structure, which minimizes vibrations and resonance, ensuring stable operation. The drone is equipped with GEPRC's SPAN F722-HD-BT Flight Controller, offering high performance and numerous ports, including Bluetooth wireless connectivity for convenient field tuning. Powering the MARK5 is the upgraded SPAN G50A BLHeli_32 4IN1 50A ESC combined with GEPRC's 2107.5 motor, delivering significant explosive power and rapid response. The new GEMFAN Freestyle 4S propellers contribute to a delicate and smooth flight experience. The MARK5 comes pre-tuned from the factory, ready for immediate use after battery connection. It supports various action cameras, including GoPro8/9/10, Naked GoPro8, Insta 360 GO2, and Caddx Peanut cameras, with two different 3D printed mounts included.

Usage Features:

The MARK5 offers several features that enhance its usability and performance:

  • Robust and Lightweight Design: Aluminum alloy side plates not only provide a visually appealing aesthetic but also contribute to reduced weight and increased durability.
  • Wireless Tuning: Bluetooth wireless connection support allows for easy and convenient field tuning without the need for physical cables.
  • Freestyle Optimized: The wide X-arm design is specifically developed for freestyle flying, offering improved maneuverability and control.
  • HD System Integration: The HD version of the MARK5 includes the DJI HD System and the original Air Unit camera, providing high-quality video transmission.
  • Receiver Versatility: A variety of receiver choices are available, including GEPRC's new ExpressLRS Rx, offering flexibility for different pilot setups.
  • Powerful Propulsion System: The combination of the SPAN G50A BLHeli_32 4IN1 50A ESC and GEPRC's 2107.5 motor ensures strong explosive power and quick response times, crucial for dynamic freestyle maneuvers.
  • Vibration Reduction: The unique shock-absorbing structure design effectively reduces vibrations and resonance, leading to a more stable flight and better performance of electronic components.
  • Dedicated Compartments: Specially designed independent compartments for the capacitor and buzzer improve overall performance and further reduce shaking.
  • Smooth Flight Experience: The GEMFAN Freestyle 4S propellers are engineered to provide a delicate and silky smooth flight feel, enhancing the pilot's control and enjoyment.
  • Action Camera Compatibility: The inclusion of two different 3D printed action cam mounts allows users to easily attach popular cameras like GoPro, Naked GoPro8, Insta 360 GO2, and Caddx Peanut, catering to various filming needs.
  • Pre-tuned for Immediate Use: The drone is meticulously tested and tuned by the GEPRC R&D team, ensuring it is ready to fly right out of the box, minimizing setup time for users.

Maintenance Features:

While the manual primarily focuses on initial setup and usage, it also touches upon aspects relevant to maintenance and troubleshooting:

  • Pre-flight Checks: A comprehensive pre-flight checklist is provided to ensure safety and prevent crashes. This includes verifying transmitter settings (arming switch, throttle position), inspecting the quadcopter for physical damage, confirming propeller direction and secure fastening, checking LiPo battery voltage, ensuring the battery is securely attached and balance leads are clear of props, scanning the flight area for safety hazards, and verifying clean FPV video feed.
  • Driver Installation: For Windows users, manual driver installation for CP210x and STM USB VCP is required, with links provided for easy access. This ensures proper communication between the drone and Betaflight configurator for debugging and tuning.
  • Betaflight Setup: The manual guides users on installing Betaflight, which is essential for subsequent debugging and advanced tuning. This allows users to diagnose issues and customize flight parameters.
  • Binding Procedures: Detailed instructions are provided for binding various receivers, including DJI Digital FPV System, FrSky R-XSR, TBS NanoRX, and GEPRC ELRS Receiver. Correct binding is a critical maintenance step to ensure reliable communication between the transmitter and the drone.
  • Propeller Installation/Check: Although propellers are factory-installed, users are advised to check their direction before takeoff. This is a simple yet crucial maintenance check to prevent flight instability or crashes.
  • Warranty Policy: The warranty policy clarifies what is covered (damaged or unknown issues, contact GEPRC for support) and what is not (impact damage, liquid damage, high temperature burn, or other artificial damage). This informs users about repair options and responsibilities.
  • Technical Support: Users are encouraged to contact GEPRC support via email (support@geprc.com) if they encounter any problems, indicating a channel for technical assistance and troubleshooting.
  • OSD Menu (Analog Version): For the Analog version, instructions for navigating the OSD menu via the transmitter are provided, allowing users to adjust VTX settings (band, channel, power) which can be part of routine adjustments or troubleshooting.

The GEPRC MARK5 is designed to be a user-friendly yet high-performance drone, with features that support both its dynamic flight capabilities and the practical needs of its operators.
