What to do if Graco Paint Sprayer gas engine operates, but displacement pump doesn’t operate?

  If the gas engine operates but the displacement pump doesn't, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the pump switch is set to ON and increase the pressure. Clean the displacement pump outlet filter, if your unit uses one. Also, check and clean the tip or tip filter if they are clogged. If the hydraulic fluid is low, immediately shut off the sprayer and add fluid. If the issue persists, the displacement pump rod may be seized by dried paint, or the directional valve might not be shifting. In such cases, try setting the pump switch OFF, then ON.

  If the gas engine of your Graco Paint Sprayer is hard to pull and won’t start, it could be due to high hydraulic pressure. To resolve this, turn the hydraulic pressure knob counterclockwise to the lowest setting.
