6. Grip
the toggle rockers (S) with a pliers. Compress
the springs (T) and swing the toggle assembly (E)
up and away from the piston lugs (U), and remove
the parts. Check that the valve actuator (V) is
supported by the spring clips (W), but slides easily
into them. See Fig 3.
7.
Remove the trip rod yoke (K), valve actuator (V)
and trip rod (H). Check the exhaust valve poppets
(X) for cracks.
NOTE: T
o remove the exhaust valve poppets (X),
stretch them out and cut with a sharp knife.
8.
Pull the piston (Y) up out of the base (J) and
inspect the piston o-ring (AA) and the o-ring in the
base casting.
