Troubleshooting
Primary Heater
Before performi ng any troublesh ooti ng proc edu res:
1. Relieve Pres
sure. See Pressure Relief Procedure, page 43.
2. Turn main pow
er switch OFF.
3. Allow equip
ment to cool.
Problems
Try the recommended solutions in the order given for each probl em, to avoid unnecessary repairs. Also,
determine that all c i rcui t break ers , s wi tch es , a nd co ntrol s are properly s et an d wiring is c orrec t befo re
assumi ng there i s a problem .
Problem Cause Solution
Heat turned off.
Turn on heat zones.
Temperat
ure control alarm.
Check ADM for error codes.
Primary He ater(s) does not heat.

ailure from RTD.

ailure from RTD.
Dirty RTD connections. Examine RTD cables connected
to TCMs. Confi rm RTDs are
not plugged into opposite he at
zone. Unplug and re-plug RTD
connectors. Unplug and re-plug
RTD connectors. Ens ure RTD tip
contac ts the heater element.
RTD not contacting heater
element.
Loosen ferrule nut, push in RTD
so tip contacts heater element.
Holding RTD tip against heater
element, tighten ferrule nut 1/4
turn past tight.
Failed heater element.

Control of primary heat is
abnormal; high temperature
overshoots (T4DA, T4DB) occurs
intermittently.
