Reference Modules
The REFERENCE area of the Kaleido-MX (3RU) rear panel exposes one
connector associated with the VDA-1002 card (slot 9), and four
connectors associated with an optional REF-1801 card (slot 10, if present).
GPI I/O Modules
A GPI-1501 module supports 20 GPI inputs, and 8 configurable GPI
input/output terminals. The pinout of the associated DB-44 connectors
(labelled GPI-I/O SLOT 1, and GPI-I/O SLOT 2), is as follows:
Connector label Connector type Function
REF IN 1 DIN 1.0/2.3 Reference signal to be distributed to all
input cards in the frame.
REF IN 2 DIN 1.0/2.3 Reference signal for redundancy.
LTC IN DIN 1.0/2.3 Time code input. To use this LTC input,
you must first configure the REF-1801
card’s time code source and processing
options. Refer to the REF-1801 Guide to
Installation and Operation (available on
the Kaleido-X DVD that shipped with
your system, and from the
Documentation Library section of Grass
Valleys website), for more information.
SYNC OUT 1,
SYNC OUT 2
DIN 1.0/2.3 Programmable sync outputs. Require the
REF-1801 card’s SPG option (refer to the
REF-1801 Guide to Installation and
Operation).
