6. Replace deck cover and belt guards on
deck.
Replacing the Hydro Pump Belt
See Figure 25.
1. Properly stop and park unit (see Starting
and Shut Off on page 16).
2. Using 1.3 cm (1/2") ratchet/breaker bar
with an extension, extend the spring to
relieve belt tension and remove the PTO
belt from the mower clutch sheave (see
Replacing Mower Belts on page 28).
3. Slowly release the tension on the hydro
pump belt idler until all the tension is
removed from the spring.
4. Remove the clutch anchor and mounting
hardware.
5. Remove clutch stop and mounting
hardware.
6. Remove old hydro pump belt.
7. Install new hydro pump belt by positioning
belt on sheaves.
8. Replace clutch stop. Tighten hardware to
18–23N•m (13–17lb-ft).
9. Replace mower belt on mower clutch
sheave. See Replacing Mower Belts on
page 28.
10. Verify that there are no twists in belts and
that they are routed correctly.
