Replacing Relays (988147, 148)
NOTE: Relays are interchangeable. Use only
quality replacement relays (see SERVICE
PARTS on page 38).
The unit is equipped with four relays located
under the control panel area.
1. Remove defective relay from socket.
2. Install new relay into socket.
MISCELLANEOUS SERVICE
Adjusting Parking Brake
Parking brake must contact the rear wheel
and prevent the unit from moving when
engaged. To adjust:
1. Block wheels and release parking brake.
2. Remove spring pin (A) from rear of
parking brake trunnion (B).
3. Remove trunnion from brake arm (C).
4. Rotate trunnion counter-clockwise on
parking brake rod (D) to increase
braking pressure.
IMPORTANT: The amount of brake rod
threads visible below the trunnion must be a
minimum of 1 1/4 in. (32 mm) and a
maximum of 1 5/16 in. (34 mm). Early models
have a shorter brake rod. On these models
the amount of threads visible below the
trunnion must be a minimum of 3/4 in. (19
mm) and 13/16 in. (21 mm).
5. Mount trunnion in brake arm and secure
with spring pin.
Filling Fuel Tank
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Dirt and water
in fuel can cause engine damage:
Clean dirt and debris from the fuel tank
opening.
Use clean, fresh, stabilized fuel.
Fill the fuel tank at the end of each
day’s operation to keep condensation
out of the fuel tank.
Use a non-metallic funnel with a
plastic mesh strainer when filling the
fuel tank or container.
CAUTION: Avoid injury! Fuel
vapors are explosive and
flammable:
Shut engine off before
filling fuel tank.
Do not smoke while
handling fuel.
Keep fuel away from
flames or sparks.
Fill fuel tank outdoors or in
well ventilated area.
Clean up spilled fuel
immediately.
Use clean approved non-
metal container to prevent
static electric discharge.
Use clean approved plastic
funnel without screen or
filter to prevent static
electric discharge.
