What to do if GridConnect NET232 Adapter shows 'No response from device!' message?
    • H
      Haley MitchellAug 15, 2025
If you receive a 'No response from device!' message when assigning an IP address with Device Installer for your GridConnect Adapter, double-check the IP address, Hardware address, and Network Class parameters that you have entered. It is important to note that you cannot assign an IP address to a server through a router.

Why can I ping GridConnect NET232 but not Telnet to it?
    • B
      barry42Aug 18, 2025
If you can ping your GridConnect Adapter but cannot Telnet to it on port 9999, there might be an IP address conflict on your network, or you may not be Telneting to port 9999. Alternatively, the Telnet configuration port (9999) could be disabled in the server security settings. To resolve this, turn off the server and use the DOS prompt to issue the following commands: 'ARP -D X.X.X.X' (where X.X.X.X is the server's IP address), followed by 'PING X.X.X.X'. If you get a response to the ping, there is a duplicate IP address on the network. If there is no response, use the serial port to verify that Telnet is not disabled.

What to do if nothing happens after pressing Enter in GridConnect NET232 setup mode?
    • C
      cameron88Aug 21, 2025
If, when Telnetting to port 9999 on your GridConnect Adapter, you see the message “Press Enter to go into Setup Mode” but nothing happens, it's likely you didn't press Enter quickly enough. You only have 5 seconds to press Enter before the connection closes. To fix this, Telnet to port 9999 again and press Enter as soon as you see the message.

Why GridConnect NET232 is not communicating with the serial device?
    • D
      David JohnsonAug 25, 2025
If your GridConnect Adapter isn't communicating with the serial device, it's likely due to incorrect serial settings. Ensure that the serial settings for both the serial device and the server match. The default serial settings for the server are RS232, 9600 Baud, 8 Character Bits, No Parity, 1 Stop Bit, No Flow Control.

Why Telnet window is not responding when assigning IP address to GridConnect Adapter?
    • V
      Valerie PetersonAug 27, 2025
If the Telnet window is unresponsive when trying to assign an IP address to your GridConnect Adapter via port 1, there are several potential causes: * You may have entered the Ethernet address incorrectly with the ARP command. Double-check that the Ethernet address is correct, using only numbers 0-9 and letters A-F, separated by dashes (Windows/Unix) or colons (some Unix versions). * The IP address you are trying to assign may not be on your logical subnet. Ensure your PC has an IP address within the same logical subnet you're assigning to the server. * The server might not be properly connected to the network. Verify the Link LED is lit; if not, the server isn't correctly plugged in.

What to do if GridConnect NET232 Adapter shows 'No Connection With The server' message?
    • S
      Sean MitchellAug 30, 2025
If you see a “No Connection With The server” message when connecting to the Web-Manager of your GridConnect Adapter, your computer is likely unable to connect to port 30718 (77FEh) on the server. Verify that port 30718 (77FEh) is not blocked by any router on your network and that port 77FEh is not disabled within the Security settings of the server.

What to do if Telnet connection fails after assigning IP via ARP to GridConnect NET232?
    • E
      Elizabeth WiseSep 2, 2025
If, after attempting to assign an IP address via ARP, you encountered the “Press Enter to go into Setup Mode” error and now Telnet connections to the GridConnect Adapter server fail, it's because Telnetting into port 1 only assigns a temporary IP address. Also, if you Telnet into port 9999 and don't press Enter quickly, the server reboots and loses the IP address. To resolve this, Telnet back into Port 1, wait for it to fail, then Telnet to port 9999 again, pressing Enter quickly.

Why there is no response when entering setup mode on GridConnect Adapter via serial port?
    • T
      Tracy RiceSep 5, 2025
If you get no response when trying to enter setup mode on your GridConnect Adapter via the serial port, double-check the solutions for the issue of the server not communicating with the serial device and also confirm that Caps Lock is not enabled.

Why no LEDs are lit on GridConnect NET232?
    • A
      Anna CabreraSep 8, 2025
If no LEDs are lit on your GridConnect Adapter, the unit or its power supply may be damaged. Try changing the power supply.

Why ARP entry addition failed when using GridConnect Adapter?
    • P
      parker40Sep 12, 2025
If you receive the message “The ARP entry addition failed: 5” when issuing the ARP –S command in Windows for your GridConnect Adapter, it means your currently logged-in user account does not have sufficient rights to use this command on your PC. To resolve this, have someone from your IT department log you in with an account that has the necessary rights.
