Why can I ping GridConnect NET485 but not Telnet to port 9999?

  If you can ping the GridConnect Adapter but cannot Telnet to port 9999, it might indicate an IP address conflict on your network. To resolve this, turn off the device server and use the following commands in your computer's DOS prompt: 'ARP -D X.X.X.X' (replace X.X.X.X with the device server's IP address), followed by 'PING X.X.X.X' (again, using the device server's IP address). If you receive a response after the ping, it confirms a duplicate IP address. If there's no response, use the serial port to check if Telnet is disabled.

  If the GridConnect Adapter isn't communicating with the serial device, the serial settings might be incorrect. Ensure that the serial settings for both the serial device and the device server match. The default settings for the device server are RS-232, 9600 baud, 8 character bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, and no flow control. For NET485, you must change the setting to RS422 or RS485.
