To resolve this, turn off the device server and use the following commands in your computer's DOS prompt: 'ARP -D X.X.X.X' (replace X.X.X.X with the device server's IP address), followed by 'PING X.X.X.X' (again, using the device server's IP address). If you receive a response after the ping, it confirms a duplicate IP address. If there's no response, use the serial port to check if Telnet is disabled.

The default settings for the device server are RS-232, 9600 baud, 8 character bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, and no flow control. For NET485, you must change the setting to RS422 or RS485.

      If pressing Enter after the 'Press Enter to go into Setup Mode' message on port 9999 of GridConnect Adapter doesn't work, it's because you must press Enter within 5 seconds of seeing the message. Telnet to port 9999 again and press Enter as soon as you see the message.

      Setup Mode via the serial port is NOT supported on the NET485 GridConnect Adapter. The unit is able to receive data but it cannot transmit, since the TXEN enable pin is not accessible to the boot firmware.
