How to reduce snipe on my Grizzly Sander?
    • R
      richardcarrilloAug 23, 2025
If your Grizzly Sander has excessive snipe, consider the following: Ensure you have adequate outfeed support by setting up an outfeed table or having someone catch the workpiece as it exits the machine. Reduce the pressure from the pressure plates by raising them. Also, lessen the pressure from the rear pressure plate by raising it.

Why is my Grizzly Sander vibrating or noisy?
    • T
      Tara CarpenterAug 26, 2025
If your Grizzly Sander is vibrating or operating noisily, start by inspecting for any loose motors or components. Replace or re-tighten any stripped or damaged bolts/nuts, using thread-locking fluid. Check the V-belts for wear or looseness; replace and re-tension them as needed. Ensure the motor fan isn't rubbing against the fan cover, and replace the cover or fan if damaged. If a pulley is loose, remove it, and replace the shaft, pulley, set-screw, and key as required, then realign. Make sure the machine is correctly mounted to the floor, addressing any loose anchor studs or uneven surfaces. Carefully inspect the cast iron motor mount for faults, and replace any loose or broken mounts. Finally, check the motor bearings and replace the motor or bearings if necessary.

Why are the table elevation controls on my Grizzly G0458 stiff?
    • A
      Angelica StevensonAug 30, 2025
If the table elevation controls on your Grizzly Sander are stiff and hard to adjust, there are several potential causes. The table lift screws may be dirty or loaded with sawdust, so clean and re-grease them. The chain idler sprocket cap screws might be over-tightened; adjust them so the sprocket can spin freely. Also, the elevation handle helical gear could be dirty or loaded with sawdust; clean and re-grease it.

Why does my Grizzly G0458 Sander make noise when drums are powered up?
    • M
      Mark ZhangSep 1, 2025
If you're experiencing a grinding, screeching, or rubbing noise when the sanding drums of your Grizzly Sander are powered up, it could be due to a lack of oil in the drum bushings. Oil the drum bushings. Alternatively, the drum bushings may be worn and need replacement.

    • D
      Debra HuntSep 5, 2025
If you're experiencing a short V-belt lifespan on your Grizzly Sander, it could be due to pulleys not being aligned correctly. Align the pulleys. It could also be due to improper tension, so properly tension the V-belts.

Why does my Grizzly Sander lack power and the drums stop turning?
    • R
      reidsamanthaSep 12, 2025
If your Grizzly Sander lacks power and the drums stop turning under load, it may be due to loose V-belts. Tighten the V-belts. It could also be caused by too much pressure on the pressure plates, so raise the pressure plates.
