9. Fault finding
Warning
Before starting work on the unit, make sure
that the RMQ unit is set to "Only". Then
disconnect the power supply. Make sure
that the power supply cannot be
accidentally switched on.
Fault Cause Remedy
1. Acoustic fault
indication, and the
indicator lights
"Emergency
overflow" and "Only"
are flashing.
a) The float valve leaks due to
impurities.
Check that the filter on the inlet side of the
float valve has been fitted correctly. Clean the
filter. See section 6.4 Connection of mains-
water pipe.
Turn on a point of consumption, such as a
toilet or tap, and allow the pump to run for
approx. 1 minute, thus attempting to wash
down the impurities from the valve. Then set
the unit to the desired operating mode.
b) The float cannot move
freely in the mains-water
tank.
Make sure that the float can move freely up
and down in the tank.
2. Acoustic fault
indication, and the
indicator lights "10
%" and "Only" are
flashing.
a) One of the two leads
between the unit and the
level sensor in the
collecting tank is defective
(cable breakage) or has not
been connected correctly to
the terminal block of the
unit.
Check the level sensor, cable and terminal
block. Connect the leads again, or replace the
sensor.
3. Acoustic fault
indication, and the
indicator lights "20
%" and "Only" are
flashing.
a) The sensor cable has short-
circuited.
Check whether the two stripped wires touch
each other.
b) Water has penetrated into
the level sensor.
Replace the level sensor and the sensor
cable.
4. The indicator lights
"Alarm" and "Auto"
are permanently on.
a) The pump has run dry of
rainwater.
Check the water level in the collecting tank
and the installation of the level sensor. The
suction filter must as a minimum reach a water
depth corresponding to 30 cm water above the
level sensor.
5. The indicator lights
"Alarm" and "Only"
are permanently on.
a) The float valve is blocked
due to impurities.
Check that the filter on the inlet side of the
float valve has been fitted correctly.
Clean the filter. See section 6.4 Connection of
mains-water pipe.
Turn on a point of consumption, such as a
toilet or tap, and allow the pump to run for
approx. 1 minute, thus attempting to wash
down the impurities from the valve. Then set
the unit to the desired operating mode.
b) The float cannot move
freely in the mains-water
tank.
Make sure that the float can move freely up
and down in the tank.
6. Acoustic fault
indication and the
indicator lights
"Backflow" and
"Only" are flashing.
a) Only possible if backflow
monitoring equipment
(accessory) has been
installed: Backflow from the
sewage system to the
collecting tank (e.g.
underground tank).
Pump out the sewage water and clean the
tank.
Examine the cause of the backflow. If the
backflow has been caused by blockages in the
sewage system, they must be removed before
the system can be restarted.
