Method 1: Releasing steam
This method requires releasing as much steam as
possible until the pressure in the appliance has
decreased enough to be able to remove the lid.
Warning!
- This method means that hot steam
will escape from the pressure regula-
tor. You should therefore be careful
not to scald yourself.
- If you were cooking on level II, the
temperature of the liquid in the pot
will be about 120 °C. Relieving the
pressure too quickly might cause the
liquid to bubble up excessively,
resulting in an extreme amount of
steam escaping. In this case, pro-
ceed in stages.
1. Remove the pressure cooker from the cooker.
2. First turn the pressure
regulator
6
to position
I.
3. Wait until most of the steam has escaped.
4. Turn the pressure regulator
6
to the steam releasing setting
.
5. Wait until the pressure has equalised and the
red safety valve
4
falls back down.
Note:
As soon as the red safety valve
4
falls back down, the temperature inside the
appliance is still almost 100 °C.
6. Only then slide the lock
8
forwards and simultane-
ously turn the lid anticlock-
wise until the round mark
on the lid is lined up with
the round mark on the pot
handle
10
.
7.
Note:
As soon as you slide the lock
8
forwards, some residual steam may escape.
8. Remove the lid from the base.
Method 2: Saving energy
Method 2 requires the cooker to be turned off a
few minutes before the food has finished cooking,
leaving the pot on the cooking plate. This uses
the residual heat optimally and saves energy.
1. Wait until the pressure has stabilized and the
red safety valve
4
drops down.
Please note:
When the safety valve
4
drops down, the temperature inside the
pressure cooker is still around 100 °C.
2. Only then slide the lock
8
forwards and simultane-
ously turn the lid anticlock-
wise until the round mark
on the lid is lined up with
the round mark on the pot
handle
10
.
Note:
As soon as you slide the lock
8
forwards, some residual steam may escape.
3. Remove the lid from the base.
Method 3: Saving time
Method 3 requires you to remove the pressure
cooker from the cooking plate once the food has
finished cooking. In order to be able to open the lid
straight away, the pressure in the base has to be
released manually. This method in particular saves
time.
1. Hold the pressure cooker under running
water until the safety valve
4
drops down
(the pressure of the water should not be too
high).
