Rotary - TR/TRT/T5C - Installation - Introduction
This procedure tells you how to install a TR, TRT, or T5C rotary on a Haas VMC. For these instructions, the trunnion axis is the
A Axis (TILT). The platter axis is the B Axis ( ROTARY).
Caution: Make sure the power supplied to the rotary has the correct voltage. Refer to the Machine Compatibility
section before installing a rotary table.

Installation Steps 1 and 2

Step 1: Machine Preparation

Prepare the machine by ZERO RETURN, moving the table, and engaging the EMERGENCY STOP.

Step 2: Lifting Setup

Install eye bolts and lifting chains with a spreader beam, ensuring proper setup to prevent damage.

Installation Steps 3 and 4

Step 3: Mounting the Rotary

Install T-Nuts, pins, clean surfaces, and mount the rotary using a lifting device and securing studs.

Step 4: Remove Shipping Brackets

Remove standoffs and shipping brackets from specific locations on the rotary unit and reinstall screws.

Installation Steps 5, 6, and 7

Step 5: Clean and Prepare Cables

Clean rotary surfaces, jog axes, disconnect air, remove shipping plate, and install cable clamp.

Step 6: Power Down

Perform shutdown procedures by engaging EMERGENCY STOP, POWER OFF, and locking the circuit breaker.

Step 7: Route Air Hose and Cables

Route the rotary air hose and cables into the machine enclosure and connect them to the appropriate cabinets.

Installation Steps 8 and 9

Step 8: Manage Rotary Cables

Organize and secure rotary cables, label them, and route them through the cable clamp with proper tension.

Step 9: Connect Rotary Cables

Connect the TILT and ROTARY axis cables to the control cabinet, including scale cables, with power off.

Installation Steps 10, 11, and 12

Step 10: NGC Control Configuration

For NGC machines, perform the Enable and Disable procedure and proceed to step 13.

Step 11: Configure 4th Axis

Set Parameter 7 to OFF and enable FOURTH AXIS in Parameter 315. Select the correct rotary model.

Step 12: Configure 5th Axis

Set Parameter 78 5TH AXIS ENABLE to NEW. Select the correct rotary model and axis.

Installation Step 13 and Parameter Adjustment

Step 13: Final Axis Checks and Securing

Perform final axis checks, ensure correct model selection, and install remaining studs, washers, and nuts.
