5.2 Simplified procedure
Required apparatus:
BODTrak II bottle
Thermometer
Blender (optional)
Graduated cylinder
Required reagents:
2 nutrient buffer pillows
Table 4 Simplified sample volumes

1. Heat or cool the
sample to 19 to 21 ºC
(66 F to 70 ºF).
2. Homogenize the
sample in a blender if it
contains large settleable
or floatable solids.
3. Choose the correct
sample size for the
sample range (Table 4).
Measure the sample into a
graduated cylinder.
