Checking Procedure
WARNING:
Unless otherwise directed, carry out these procedures with the power switch OFF and the power
UNPLUGGED.

Verifytheelectricalintegrityof
the heater and sensor
1. Checkforabrokenheaterorsensor
Measuretheresistancewhileatroomtem-
perature(15to25°C;59to77°F).Itshouldbe

±10%.Iftheresistanceexceedstheselimits,
replacethetip.
Measure the resistance across the tip as shown.

Checkthegroundingline 1. Unplugtheconnectioncordfromthestation.
2.Measuretheresistancevaluebetweenpin2
andthetip(bothtips).
3. Iftheresistancevalueishigherthan2Ω(at
roomtemperature),removetheblackoxide
orreplacethetipwithanewone.Iftheresis-
tancevaluestilldoesnotdecrease,checkthe
connectioncordforbreakage.

1.Insertasetofveriedtipsinbothsidesofthe
handle.
2.Measuretheresistancevaluebetweentwo
pins.
