NOTE: Stirring the starting gel into the pellets usually
allows the re to become established quicker.
CAUTION: A vapor ash could occur if too much time is

CAUTION: Care must be taken not to get starting gel on
your hands or clothing. Serious burns could occur during
thelightingprocess.

burningre,orarewithsmolderingpellets.

13. Close The Doors: The re will light and the control
willadjusttheretotheproperlevel accordingtothe
temperaturedialsettingonthewallcontrol.
14. Return air lter: Checktheconditionofthereturnair
lterperiodicallyandreplaceasneeded.

because soot, creosote, and ash may accumulate. If you
suspectachimney/ventpipere.

2. Removefuelfromtheburnpotusingtheburnpotscraping
tooltoscrapethepelletsintotheashpan.
3. Removetheashpanfromtheunitandtakeoutside.Do
notplaceashpanonacombustiblematerial.
4. Turnoffcircuitbreakeratunit.
5. Donotusetheunituntilaqualiedpersonhasinspected
yourapplianceandventing.

Shut Down Procedure:
Theproperwaytoshutdownthefurnaceistoturnthemode
selectorto“OFF”.Thecontrolwilldecreasethefeedrateto
coolthere.OncetheESPcoolsenough,thefeederwillstop
running.Inordertoensureremovalofsmokeandgasesfrom
theremainingfuelintheburnpot,thecombustionblowerwill
operateuntiltheESPcoolstoasafetemperature.Depending
onthesizeofthereatthetimetheunitisturnedto“OFF”,
thisprocesscouldtakeaslongasonehour.
Anothermethodofshutdownwhichisrecommendedatthe
endoftheburnseason,istosimplylettheunitrunoutof
fuel.Thisway,thehopperisemptyfortheoffseason.
Never turn off the circuit breaker or otherwise disconnect
power to the unit for shut down purposes!
