Cleaning the Tube heat exchangers:
Theheatexchangerstubeshaveanexternalhandlethat
operatesthecleaningmechanism.SeeFig.74.
Thiscleaningshouldbedoneatleastonceaweek,although
it can be done as often as desired. The cleaner the heat
exchangers are, the more efficient the furnace will be.
Thiscleaningcanbedoneatanytimeandinanymodeof
operation.
Thehandlehastwodirectionsofmovement,RighttoLeft
andInandOut.Allinsidesurfacesoftheserectangulartubes
can be cleaned with this range of motion. First, with the
handlepushedin,turnthehandlerighttoleft,thefullsweep,
severalstrokes. Second, with the handle pointing straight
down,pulloutandpushinwardseveralstrokes.Third,with
thehandleallthewayout,turnthehandlerighttoleft,the
fullsweep,severaltimes.Endwiththehandlepushedinward
andpointingdown.

regularly to ensure that smoke and ue gases are
not drawn into, and circulated by, the air-circulation
