During Operation
Starting the Machine
1. Ensure that the battery pack is installed in the machine; refer to Installing the Battery Pack.
2. Insert the electric-start button into the electric starter switch. Figure 14A.
3. Squeeze the blade-control bar and hold it to the handle. Figure 14B.
4. Press the electric-start button and keep it pressed until the motor starts. Figure 14C.

Using the Self-Propel Lever
To operate the self-propel drive, squeeze the self-propel lever (2) toward the handle (1) and hold it. Figure

To disengage the self-propel drive, release the self-propel lever.

Use the grass bag when you want to collect grass and leaf clippings from the lawn.
