Why is my Heat Controller Heat Pump not cooling or heating properly?
- LLarry SheppardAug 21, 2025
If your Heat Controller Heat Pump is not cooling or heating properly, several factors could be the cause. Start by checking and cleaning or replacing the dirty air filter. Ensure there are no airflow restrictions and that the fan motor is working correctly. Also, verify that the external static is not too high by checking the static valve. Look for leaky ductwork by comparing supply and return air temperatures. Check the superheat and subcooling, as low refrigerant charge or a restricted metering device could be the issue. Inspect the reversing valve, thermostat location, and unit sizing. Scaling in the water heat exchanger or extreme inlet water temperatures can also affect performance.
