WATER HEATER INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Inspection Activities Date last completed
PIPING AND VENTING
1st Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year*
Near Heater Piping Check heater and system piping for any sign of leakage, make sure they are properly supported
Venting
Check condition of all venting pipe and check for leaks - Also check to assure that all venting is
properly braced and secured . Check vent outlets to assure there are no obstruction or additional
piping added that could create a unsafe condition – Refer to Venting Details in this manual for further
venting instruction.
Gas Check gas piping, test for gas leaks and signs of aging, make sure all pipes are supported properly.
SYSTEM
Visual Do a full visual inspection of all system components
Functions / Safeties Test all functions of the system (Heat, Safeties)
Temperatures / Domestic Verify safe settings on water heater or Mixing Valve
Temperatures / Central Heat Verify temperature settings programmed
ELECTRICAL
Connections Check wire connections, examine wiring condition
Smoke and CO detector Verify devices are installed and working properly, change batteries if necessary
* NOTE : CONTINUE MAINTENANCE BEYOND THE 4TH YEAR IS REQUIRED ON A YEARLY BASIS.
