Condensate Piping
Disconnect piping, clean out dirt or any obstruction by vacuuming out line - Observe the fl ow of
condensate to assure that there are no obstructions.
GAS
Pressure Measure incoming gas pressure (from 3.5" to 14" W.C.)
Pressure Drop Measure drop in pressure on light off (no more than 1" W.C.)
Check gas pipe for leaks Check piping for leaks, and verify they are all properly supported
COMBUSTION
Check CO/CO2 Levels
Check levels of CO and CO2 as outlined in Part 7: Section 7-3 to assure the unit is running at
optimum effi ciency.
Flame Probe and Spark Gap
Clean Probes with scotch brite to take oxides off of surface that may affect the performance. Check
the Spark Gap as referenced in the manual pg.59 for natural gas unit – The LP units spark to the
burner directly.
Water Pressure Switch Check operation, check for signs of leakage, replace if corroded
SAFETIES
Low Water Cut-Off
Check low water cut-off by pulling lead off of probe - you should see an “FOU” Fault code on the
display. To reset; Reconnect Probe and press “reset” to resume normal operation. If unit does not
show a fault, check wiring and probe for material build-up - clean if necessary.
Water Pressure Switch Check operation, check for signs of leakage, replace if corroded
Sensors Check wiring, verify through ohms reading. Check clip on sensor. Check position and connection.
