TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
SYMPTOM
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Meter inoperative.
1.
Shorting wire across meter terminals.
2.
Batteries
not
installed
or
weak.
Meter pegs left when
turned
on.
1.
Set Beta =
00
control
turned
fully counterclockwise.
2.
Meter leads or
battery
leads interchanged.
3.
One
or
both
batteries installed backwards.
Meter pegs right when Beta
Cal
switch
is
pressed in.
1.
Transistor leads incorrectly connected.
No
full scale deflection; Beta
Cal
control pulled
out
and
turned
fully
clockwise.
I
1.
Batteries weak or have
poor
connection.
Remove batteries, bend battery holder ends
inward
and
replace
the
batteries. Rotate
the
batteries
in
the
holders
to
insure good
contact.
2.
Control R 1
out
of adjustment. Refer
to
the
"Test
and
Adjustment"
section on
Page 19.
I
Current range different
than
label
indicates.
I
1.
Range switch wiring. Trace wiring from
switch
to
circuit board.
2.
Shunt
resistances. Check R
1,
R2, R3,
and
R4.
Function
or
mode switches operate
improperly.
I
1.
Function
and
mode
switch jumper wires. Trace
all
wires associated with these switches and
the
circu it board.
