3.4 Thermal
protection
The requisite measures concerning thermal safety
are stipulated in DIN-Standard 12 880, Part 1, Table 3 (see
Appendix).
The thermal safety class which applies to these heating
ovens is indicated on the nameplate.
No overtemperature
protection
Thermal safety class 0:
No direct protection for the heating oven, its environment
and
load.
Only admissible for non-dangerous loads.
- If the temperature control system fails, the subsequent
rise of temperature inside the oven will cause damage.
- Only admissible for supervised operation.
- The operation of these heating ovens must be checked
at sufficiently short intervals.
- Heating ovens of this thermal safety class may not be
built into laboratory furniture or stacked.
Supplementary equipment may be added to the heating
ovens of safety class 0 if a temperature limit cut-out,
temperature limit controller, or an upper/lower limit
controller is installed.
