If pilot screw is tampered it affects the overall
performance characteristics of the vehicle.
Excessive valve clearance will cause noise, and
little or no clearance will prevent the valve
from closing and cause valve damage and
VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
Remove the tappet covers (1) and cylinder
head left side cover (2) with gasket (3) by
removing the bolt/sealing washer.
Remove the fuel tank.

IDLE SPEED: 1400 100 R± /MIN
CAUTION
!!
Never adjust pilot screw (2). Pilot screw
adjustment is to be done only by Authorised
Hero MotoCorp workshop.
NOTE
Always adjust the idle speed in i3s switch
“OFF” position.
Remove the timing hole cap (4). Rotate the
cam sprocket (7) clockwise using the
special tool (8) until the ‘T’ mark (5) on the
flywheel coincides with the index mark (6)
on the left crankcase cover. In this position,
the piston will either be on the compression
or exhaust stroke.
