Why does my Heta Scan-line 8 Stove burn poorly and the glass soots up?
    • E
      Erika AllenAug 16, 2025
Poor burning and soot on the glass of your Heta Stove can result from several issues. Check for soot in the flue pipe and clean it regularly, avoiding horizontal flue pipes and firewood that produces a lot of ash. Inadequate chimney draft can also cause this, so improving the chimney draft is important. Ensure sufficient air supply by following the operating instructions. Damp wood, firewood pieces that are too large, or insufficient air supply to the room (due to range hoods or airtight windows) can also be causes. In the case of insufficient air, open windows or clean the outdoor air connection. Also, ensure that the firewood has been dried for at least one year after splitting.

What to do if my Heta Stove has too rapid combustion?
    • J
      Jennifer MiddletonAug 19, 2025
If your Heta Stove is experiencing combustion that is too rapid, it could be due to too much chimney draft. In this case, measure the chimney draft and install a damper in the flue pipe if necessary. Another potential cause is a defective door or ash pan/drawer seal, which would require replacing the seal.

    • J
      Julie JohnsonAug 21, 2025
If your Heta Stove smells and the surface is steaming, it is likely that the paint on the stove surface is not yet fully hardened. To resolve this, ensure there is sufficient ventilation in the area.

Why is there condensation in the combustion chamber of my Heta Scan-line 8?
    • R
      Ricardo WebsterAug 26, 2025
Condensation in the combustion chamber of your Heta Stove can be attributed to a few reasons. It may be due to moisture in the vermiculite, which will evaporate after the stove has been lit a few times. Another cause is damp wood, so ensure you are using dry firewood. Lastly, the pipe might be too long, or the chimney might be too cold; in this case, improve the flue pipe and insulate the chimney.

    • B
      Brad WilliamsAug 28, 2025

What to do if the vermiculite in the combustion chamber of my Heta Scan-line 8 is becoming very worn?
    • M
      Mr. Dave BaileySep 3, 2025
If the vermiculite in the combustion chamber of your Heta Stove is becoming very worn, it is typically due to wood and flue gases wearing down the vermiculite. Normal wear and minor cracks are of no significance. It should be replaced when the steel of the combustion chamber is visible.

    David HughesSep 5, 2025
What to do if the vermiculite in the combustion chamber of my Heta Scan-line 8 is cracked?
    • L
      Lindsey JohnsonSep 6, 2025
Cracks in the vermiculite of your Heta Stove's combustion chamber are usually caused by shocks or impacts while adding firewood. These cracks only have cosmetic significance. Replace the vermiculite when the steel of the combustion chamber is visible.

    • J
      Jessica TorresSep 9, 2025

Why does my Heta Scan-line 8 tick?
    • M
      matthew29Sep 12, 2025
If your Heta Stove ticks, it's likely due to normal expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. To minimize this, ensure that the temperature in the combustion chamber is as constant as possible.
