Overview

The HIKVISION DS-K4T100 Electric Lock is designed to connect with DS-K2600 and DS-K2800 series Access Controllers, providing a comprehensive solution for door access control. This document serves as a guide for correct wiring and ensures the access controllers can effectively manage the locks. The primary function of this setup is to enable door opening for exiting, integrating electric locks with advanced access control systems.

Function Description:

The DS-K4T100 Electric Lock, when integrated with HIKVISION DS-K2600 (DS-K2601, DS-K2602, DS-K2604) and DS-K2800 (DS-K2801, DS-K2802, DS-K2804) series Access Controllers, facilitates secure and controlled access to premises. The system allows for the management of door status, enabling users to monitor and control access through the iVMS-4200 Client software. The electric lock acts as the physical mechanism for securing the door, while the access controller provides the intelligence for authentication, authorization, and event logging.

The system supports various wiring configurations for the electric lock and door magnetic sensor, catering to different operational requirements. Part 1 of the manual focuses on the basic Lock+ & Lock- wiring, which is essential for the electric lock's power and operation. Parts 2 and 3 delve into more advanced wiring scenarios, incorporating NC (Normally Closed) and COM (Common) connections for the door magnetic sensor, which allows the system to detect the door's open/closed status. This is crucial for enhanced security and monitoring capabilities, as it enables the iVMS-4200 Client to display real-time door status and trigger alarms for abnormal events.

Important Technical Specifications:

The DS-K4T100 Electric Lock operates with a 12V power supply, indicated by the red wire. The black wire serves as the ground (GND). For control and status feedback, the lock utilizes green (COM), yellow (NC), and blue (NO) wires. These connections are critical for interfacing with the access controller's lock and door magnetic interfaces.

The access controllers (DS-K2600 and DS-K2800 series) feature dedicated terminals for lock control (Lock+, Lock-) and door magnetic sensor input (Magnetic1, Button1, GND, Magnetic2, Button2). The specific models mentioned, DS-K2604 and DS-K2804, are used as examples for wiring diagrams, highlighting the compatibility and integration points. The controllers also include RS485 terminals for communication, enabling network integration with the iVMS-4200 Client.

Usage Features:

  1. Access Control Integration: The system integrates seamlessly with HIKVISION's iVMS-4200 Client, allowing for centralized management of access control devices.
  2. Real-time Door Status Monitoring: By wiring the door magnetic sensor, users can monitor the real-time open/closed status of the door through the iVMS-4200 Client. This feature is vital for security surveillance and operational awareness.
  3. Event Logging and Alarms: The system records various access control events, such as door open/close, remote login/logout, and abnormal door events (e.g., open door timeout, abnormally open door by force). These events can trigger alarms and provide valuable data for security analysis.
  4. Configurable Door Parameters: Within the iVMS-4200 Client, users can configure various door parameters, including:
    • Door Magnetic Sensor Type: Can be set to "Remain Closed" or "Remain Open" depending on the wiring configuration and desired behavior.
    • Exit Button Type: Configurable for different exit button functionalities.
    • Door Locked Time: The duration for which the door remains locked after an access event.
    • Door Open Duration by Card for Disabled Persons: Allows for extended door open times for accessibility.
    • Door Open Timeout Alarm: Triggers an alarm if the door remains open beyond a specified duration.
    • Enable Locking Door when Door Closed: Ensures the door is automatically locked when closed.
    • Duress Code, Super Password, Dismiss Code: Provides additional security layers for emergency situations or specific operational needs.
  5. Device Arming Control: The iVMS-4200 Client allows users to arm or disarm access controllers, influencing how the system responds to events and alarms. An armed device indicates active monitoring and security protocols.
  6. Multiple Wiring Options: The manual provides detailed wiring diagrams for different scenarios, including single and multiple electric lock installations, and configurations for both Lock+/Lock- and NC/COM wiring, offering flexibility to adapt to various installation requirements.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Pre-wiring Safety: Emphasizes the critical safety measure of cutting off the power supply before any wiring work to prevent electrical hazards and damage to devices.
  2. Interface Verification: Users are instructed to carefully check the interfaces of both the electric lock and the access controller to ensure correct connections, which is fundamental for proper system operation.
  3. Software-based Configuration and Troubleshooting: The iVMS-4200 Client serves as a central point for configuration, status monitoring, and initial troubleshooting. Users can verify wiring consistency by observing door status and alarm events within the software.
  4. Alarm Content Analysis: The system provides detailed alarm content (e.g., "Normally Close Door," "Normally Open Door," "Open Door Timeout," "Abnormally Open Door") which aids in diagnosing issues and understanding the cause of security events.
  5. Magnetic Lock LED Status: Abnormalities in the magnetic lock's LED status can indicate various issues, such as open door timeout, forced door opening, or improper installation causing poor contact between the armature plate and the lock body. This visual feedback is a valuable diagnostic tool.
  6. Firmware and Device Information: The iVMS-4200 Client displays device information, including firmware version, security status, and serial number, which is useful for maintenance, updates, and support.

In summary, the HIKVISION DS-K4T100 Electric Lock, in conjunction with the DS-K2600/DS-K2800 series Access Controllers and iVMS-4200 Client, offers a robust and versatile access control solution. Its features emphasize ease of installation, comprehensive monitoring, and flexible configuration, making it a suitable choice for various security applications.
