Overview

This document serves as a comprehensive user manual for a Hisense television, providing essential information for its safe and optimal operation, installation, and maintenance. The TV is designed for rendering video and audio signals in a home or office environment, suitable for table-top or wall-mounted setups.

Function Description

The Hisense TV is a display device primarily intended for viewing video content and listening to audio. It features multiple input sources, allowing users to connect various external devices such as set-top boxes, DVD/Blu-Ray players, game consoles, and satellite receivers. The TV includes a built-in wireless LAN adapter for network connectivity, enabling access to online content and services. It also supports Common Interface (CI+) modules for accessing encrypted channels from service providers. The TV is controlled via a remote control, which allows for power on/off, input selection, channel navigation, volume adjustment, and access to system menus and special functions like Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and teletext.

Usage Features

  • Installation Flexibility: The TV can be installed on a table-top using the provided base stands or mounted on a wall with a compatible wall-mount bracket (optional). Specific instructions and screw sizes are provided for different TV sizes (43", 50", 55", 65").
  • User-Friendly Setup: Upon first power-on, the TV guides the user through an installation wizard to select language, country, time zone, and set up network connections. It also requires agreement to the End User License Agreement.
  • Multiple Connectivity Options:
    • Antenna Inputs: Includes ANT 1 (DVB-T/T2/C) and ANT 2 (DVB-S/S2) for receiving terrestrial and satellite broadcast signals.
    • HDMI Ports: Multiple HDMI inputs (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3) are available for connecting high-definition devices. HDMI 1 supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) for simplified audio connections with compatible audio systems.
    • AV In: An AV In port (using an RCA jack to AV cable) allows for connecting older analog devices like VCRs or older game consoles.
    • Digital Audio Out: Provides an optical digital audio output for connecting to external audio amplifiers or sound systems.
    • USB Ports: Several USB ports (USB 1, USB 2) are available for connecting external storage devices, enabling media playback. The USB ports support a voltage of 5V, with a maximum current consumption of 500mA for USB1.1 and USB2.0 devices. High-capacity mobile hard disks with impulse currents greater than or equal to 1A are not supported.
    • LAN Port: An Ethernet (Cat 5) port allows for a wired network connection to a modem or router, ideally one that supports DHCP for automatic IP address configuration.
    • Wireless LAN: A built-in wireless LAN adapter supports IEEE 802.11b/g/n communication protocols for wireless network connectivity. It is recommended to use an IEEE 802.11n router for optimal performance.
  • Remote Control Functionality: The included remote control provides comprehensive control over the TV, including:
    • Power on/off and standby mode.
    • Direct input source selection.
    • Numeric buttons for channel selection and input.
    • Electronic Program Guide (EPG) access (DTV mode).
    • Subtitle activation/deactivation.
    • Quick setup menu access.
    • Teletext function.
    • Navigation buttons (up, down, left, right) and OK button for menu interaction.
    • Back and Exit buttons for menu navigation.
    • Home button to enter the Smart TV interface.
    • Channel List display.
    • Volume adjustment and mute function.
    • Channel up/down.
    • Playpad keys for media control.
    • Quick access buttons for apps and media mode (may vary by remote control model).
    • Timeshift function (T.shift) for pausing live TV.
    • Info button to display program information.
  • Standby Mode: The TV consumes minimal power in standby mode, but it is recommended to disconnect the power plug during long periods of absence.
  • Image Burn Prevention: To prevent "image burn" on the LED screen, users are advised to avoid displaying still images for long periods. Image burn resulting from prolonged display of 4:3 aspect ratio content on black areas is not covered by the warranty.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: The TV, screen, and remote control should be cleaned with a soft, moist, clean, and color-natural cloth only. Harsh chemicals, insect repellents, solvents, thinners, or other volatile substances should not be used as they can degrade the surface quality. Water or other liquids should not be sprayed directly onto the TV. The display panel is fragile and should be handled with care to avoid scratches. The power plug should be wiped with a dry cloth regularly.
  • Service and Repair: The TV is not user-serviceable. The cover/back should never be removed. All servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel. Unauthorized modifications can void the warranty and pose risks of electric shock and fire.
  • Battery Handling:
    • Only the specified battery type (AAA size) should be used in the remote control.
    • Batteries should be inserted correctly, matching the (+) and (-) ends.
    • Old and new batteries, or different battery types, should not be mixed.
    • Rechargeable batteries should not be used.
    • Batteries should not be burned or broken up.
    • Batteries should be disposed of correctly, not as domestic waste, but in designated collection containers.
    • Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat.
  • Packaging Disposal: Anti-moisture materials and plastic bags from the packaging should be kept out of reach of children to prevent suffocation. Anti-moisture material is harmful if swallowed.
  • Recycling/Licenses: The product is designed for recycling in accordance with European Directives (WEEE 2012/19/EU and ROHS 2011/65/EU). Used batteries should be disposed of in specific collection containers. Information regarding proper disposal of waste equipment can be obtained from local city offices or retail stores.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always read and follow the safety instructions before installation and operation.
    • Avoid exposing the TV to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing water, and do not place liquid-filled objects on or over the unit.
    • Do not touch the TV with wet hands.
    • Keep the TV away from direct air-conditioning and naked flames.
    • If moved from a cold to a hot environment, allow the TV to acclimate for at least an hour to avoid condensation.
    • Immediately remove the power plug if anything unusual is noticed.
    • In case of fire, use CO2 gas or powder fire extinguishers; if unavailable, isolate the electrical supply before using water.
    • Never place the TV in an unstable location to prevent falls and injury. Use manufacturer-recommended stands or furniture that can safely support the TV.
    • Ensure the TV is not overhanging the edge of supporting furniture.
    • Anchor the TV and tall furniture if placed on them.
    • Educate children about climbing on furniture to reach the TV.
    • Ensure proper ventilation with at least 10 cm free space on the sides and 20 cm above the unit to prevent overheating.
    • Do not block ventilation openings.
    • Do not insert foreign objects into the TV.
    • Use only the supplied stand and ensure all screws are securely tightened.
    • Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
    • Do not place heavy objects on the power cable or kink it.
    • Pull the power plug, not the cable, when disconnecting.
    • Do not use damaged power cables or socket outlets.
    • Use only the power cord supplied with the unit.
    • Place the unit in a normal upright horizontal position, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
    • When wall-mounting, follow wall-mount instructions and do not hang the TV by its cables.
    • Avoid extreme volume, especially with headphones, to prevent hearing damage.
    • During thunderstorms, disconnect the power plug and antenna cables to prevent damage from overvoltage.
    • Disconnect power and antenna cables during long periods of absence.
    • Keep a distance of at least 22 cm from the TV if you have a cardiac pacemaker, as radio waves may interfere.
    • Do not use the TV in medical institutions or near automatic control equipment due to potential radio wave interference.
    • Allow for initial off-gassing smell to dissipate, as materials meet environmental requirements.
    • Ensure the outdoor antenna system is protected against voltage surges and static charges.
