This document describes the Hisense U5120G 5.1.2CH Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer, an audio system designed to enhance your home entertainment experience. The soundbar offers a range of features for immersive sound, versatile connectivity, and user-friendly operation.
The Hisense U5120G is a 5.1.2 channel soundbar system that includes a main unit and a wireless subwoofer. It is designed to deliver rich, clear, and powerful audio, supporting advanced audio formats like Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X. Dolby Atmos provides an immersive listening experience by delivering sound in three-dimensional space, while DTS:X offers flexible sound debugging based on the playback environment for optimal performance. The system can be connected to various audio and video sources, including TVs, DVD players, Blu-ray Disc™ players, and gaming consoles, through multiple input options.
The soundbar offers several modes of operation and connectivity options to suit different user needs.
The soundbar supports Neural:X / Virtual:X / DRC / Dialog Control features. These can be accessed and adjusted through the setup menu by pressing and holding the ►II button for 3 seconds. Users can toggle Dts Neural and Dts Virtual ON/OFF, select DRC settings (Heavy, Mid, Min), and adjust the Dts Dialog Control value (0~6).
The soundbar can be connected to a TV or audio device via OPTICAL, COAXIAL, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, or HDMI ARC. It's important to ensure the audio setting of the input source (e.g., TV, game console, DVD player) is set to PCM or Dolby Digital for optimal performance, especially with digital inputs. The unit may mute if it cannot decode the digital audio format, which is not a defect.
For Hisense TVs with EzPlay, connecting the soundbar via HDMI ARC enables a dedicated Soundbar Setting menu on the TV. This allows users to control most soundbar features directly using their TV remote control. This function requires both the soundbar and TV to support Hisense EzPlay, be connected via HDMI ARC, and have the TV's CEC feature turned ON.
The soundbar can be placed on a table in front of the TV or wall-mounted directly below the TV screen. Wall mounting requires drilling 4 parallel holes (Ø 5.5-6 mm, 1156 mm apart) and securely fixing wall mount brackets. Screws at the back of the unit must be removed before installing wall mounting screws. It is recommended that wall mounting be carried out by qualified personnel to prevent injury or property damage. The suggested wall mounting height is ≤ 1.5 meters.
To replace the remote control battery:
The manual provides a troubleshooting section for common issues such as no power, remote control not working, no sound, inability to find the Bluetooth name, and the subwoofer being idle. Solutions include checking power connections, replacing remote control batteries, ensuring correct audio settings, repositioning the subwoofer within range, and re-pairing the subwoofer with the main unit. The unit also features a 15-minute power-off function, an ERPII standard requirement for saving power, which activates if the external input signal level is too low.
