This document describes the Hisense 7.1.2CH Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer, model U5120GW+, a comprehensive audio system designed to enhance your home entertainment experience. It offers a range of connectivity options and features for immersive sound.
The main unit serves as the central hub for the sound system. It features a display window that shows the current status and a remote control sensor for receiving signals. Connectivity options include a USB socket for playing music from USB devices, an OPTICAL socket for connecting to external devices, a COAXIAL socket for digital audio input, and HDMI IN (1/2) sockets for connecting HDMI source devices like DVD players or gaming consoles. There's also an HDMI OUT (TV eARC/ARC) socket for connecting to a TV, supporting eARC/ARC HDMI features to play audio originating from the connected TV. A TYPE-C socket is provided for the dongle of wireless rear surround speakers, which are sold separately. This port is specifically for the surround kit and cannot be used for other Type C devices. The main unit also includes an AC~ socket for power supply.
The system includes a wireless subwoofer and two wireless rear speakers, which contribute to the 7.1.2 channel audio experience. The subwoofer and soundbar are designed to pair automatically when powered on. If manual pairing is needed, a PAIR button and PAIR indicator are available on the subwoofer. The wireless rear speakers also feature a PAIR button and an indicator. The indicator shows different states: fast blink for pairing mode, constant on for successful connection/pairing, and slow blink for connection/pairing failure. Each rear speaker has an AC~ connection for power and screws for wall mounting. They can be set to function as Left or Right Surround Speakers.
The remote control provides comprehensive control over the soundbar system. It allows you to switch the unit between ON and STANDBY modes, select the play function (source), and adjust surround sound (ON/OFF). Bluetooth mode can be selected, and the (BT) button can be pressed and held to activate pairing or disconnect existing paired devices. You can select preset sound effects using the EQ button. For media playback, there are buttons to skip to the previous/next track in BT/USB mode, and to play/pause/resume playback. Volume levels can be increased or decreased using the VOL+/- buttons. The II button, when pressed and held for 3 seconds, enters the setup menu, and a separate button confirms selections. Bass and treble levels can be adjusted using BASS+/- and TREBLE+/- respectively. Display brightness can be adjusted with DIMMER+/-, and the MUTE button mutes or resumes the sound.
To replace the remote control battery, slide open the back cover, insert two AAA size batteries, ensuring the (+) and (-) ends match the indications in the compartment, and then close the cover. It is important not to mix old and new batteries, nor to mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc), or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, etc.) batteries.
The main unit features an ON/OFF button with different states. In the "On" state, it follows the source state, with Wi-Fi still on, and supports Play-Fi and Airplay2. In "Eco Standby," pressing once puts it in a state where Wi-Fi is off, and the product enters a lower power consumption mode. Restarting the system from this state takes a relatively longer time. Holding the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds also puts it in Eco Standby.
The soundbar supports Wi-Fi connectivity, indicated by an LED. A blinking LED signifies Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) mode, a double blink indicates Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) mode, and a constant on LED means it is connected or paired successfully. The PF (Wi-Fi Setup) button triggers Wi-Fi setup for Play-Fi. Pressing and holding it for 8 seconds activates Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) mode, and holding it for 3 seconds activates Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) mode. The manual provides detailed steps for connecting to Wi-Fi, including using the Play-Fi app or AirPlay setup on iOS devices.
The soundbar supports Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to pair and play audio from Bluetooth-enabled devices. The display window shows the Bluetooth status, such as "BT_IN" when in Bluetooth mode or "NO BT" if no device is connected.
The soundbar and rear speakers are designed for wall mounting. The main unit requires screws to be removed from the back before installing wall mounting screws. The manual provides diagrams and measurements for proper wall installation of both the soundbar and the rear speakers.
The system supports various audio technologies, including DTS Play-Fi, DTS:X, Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay, Spotify, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, 4K HDR, and HDMI eARC/ARC. It is also compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. These technologies ensure a high-quality and versatile audio experience.
