6 Check the inside of your workstation to see which board your CD
drive connection cable is attached to . This board is your control-
ler board .
7 Locate the IF number on the front of the controller board. IF num-
bers are formatted in the following ways : IF and a number; IF, I,
and a number; or IF, a number, and a letter. For example , there is
a TCD-IFI8
controller board.
8 Write down the IF number , you will need it for section 6, step 6.
9 Remove the CD drive connection cable from the back of your work-
station.
10 Skip section 3, subsection 3.1, and subsection 3.2 . Continue from
subsection 3.3 where you install a Hitachi 3700 CD drive in a case.
3. Install the CD Controller Board and Drive
Hitachi CD drives use the same address (300H) in memory as the
OCLC 1/0 Board. You must reset the OCLC 1/0 Board address
when you install a CD controller board. To change the OCLC l/0
Board address, follow the steps in section 3 .1.
After you reset the OCLC I/0 Board 's synchronous port address, per-
form the following steps :
• Install the CD controller board (section 3.2)
• Install a Hitachi 3700 CD drive in a case (section 3.3)
• Replace the system unit cover (section 4)
• Attach cables and power cords (section 5)
• Run diagnostics (section 6)
• Add SETVER to the CONFIG.SYS file (section 7)
• Install MS-DOS CD-ROM Extensions software (section 8)
• Reconfigure PASSPORT Software (section 9)
• Resolve Problems (section 10)
• Call OCLC (section 11)
3.1 Reset the OCLC 1/0 Board's Synchronous Port Address
1 Locate the OCLC I/0 Board in your workstation . Usually, the
OCLC I/0 Board is located in OCLC workstations as follows:

If you are not sure that the board in the slot is the OCLC I/0
Board, call OCLC User & Network Support .
