Attach
the
following
cables
according
to
the
way
you
labeled
them
in
section
2,
step
3.
If
you
did
not
label
your
cables
and
are
un-
sure
of
how
to
replace
them,
refer
to
the
following
list
and
your
Workstation
User
Guide
for
additional
cabling
information:
Keyboard
cable-Plug
into
the
appropriate
keyboard
connector.
Serial
printer
cable-Plug
into
the
appropriate
COM
port
and
tighten
the
screws.
M300
Workstations
cannot
use
COMl
for
a
printer.
Dial-access
modem
cable-Plug
into
the
appropriate
COM
port
and
tighten
the
screws.
M300
Workstations
cannot
use
COM2
for
a
modem
.
Parallel
printer
cable-Plug
into
LPTl
or
LPT2,
and
tighten
the
screws
Monitor
video
display
cable-Plug
into
the
monitor
adapter
socket
and
tighten
the
screws
.
CD
drive
connection
cable-Attach
one
end
to
the
CD
control-
ler
board
outlet.
Attach
the
other
end
to
either
connector
on
the
CD
drive
case.
Use
the
small
Phillips-head
screwdriver
to
tighten
the
screws.
If
you
are
installing
a
second
CD
drive,
attach
one
end
of
the
cable
to
the
port
on
the
existing
CD
drive
and
the
other
end
to
either
port
on
the
new
CD
unit.
Data
cable-Usually,
attach
to
the
OCLC
1/0
Board
if
it
is
the
last
workstation
in
a
chain
.
The
exception
is
the
M300
Workstation,
where
you
attach
the
data
cable
to
the
DATA SET
port
on
the
OCLC
Interface
Panel
(sometimes
called
the
"
dog
house")
.
Y-cable-Use
with
workstations
in
a
dedicated-line
chain.
At-
tach
to
the
ports
of
the
OCLC
1/0
Boards
in
every
workstation
except
the
last
one
in
the
chain.
Attach
the
data
and/or
chain-
ing
cables
to
theY-cable.
Do
not
use
a
Y-cable
with
a
single
workstation
or
with
an
M300
Workstation
with
a
Version
1
1/0
Board.
If
you
attach
a
Y-cable
from
the
l/0
Board
of
the
last
workstation
in
the
chain
,
the
end
of
the
cable
that
is
labeled
for
the
NEXT CRT
has
no
port
to
attach
to,
so
it
dangles
.
When
a
cable
dangles
,
it
works
as
an
antenna
and
interferes
with
the
system
.
AC
power
cord-Plug
one
end
into
the
system
unit's
AC
power
connector
and
the
other
into
an
AC
wall
outlet.
Monitor
power
cord-Plug
into
the
appropriate
video
power
con-
nector
on
the
workstation
or
into
an
AC
wall
outlet
.
CD
drive
power
cord-Plug
into
the
power
cord
outlet
on
the
back
of
the
CD
drive
case
and
the
other
end
into
an
AC
wall
outlet
.
