10.3.2.7 Removing the compressor
1 Remove the service cover, bottom service cover and rear cover following Removing service cover and Removing
bottom service cover and rear cover. When the outdoor unit is installed close to a wall remove the refrigerant piping
and move the unit from the wall.
2 Collect the refrigerant from the check joint.
3 Remove the valve stay.

4 Open the soundproof cover wrapped around the compressor
and remove the terminal box cover of the compressor body.
Disconnect the compressor wires in the terminal box and dis-
connect the thermistor on top of the compressor. Remove the
soundproof cover.
N O T E
Checktheterminalcodesandmarkbandswhendiscon-
necting the wires. Connecting wires in wrong order at
reassemblingmayresultincompressordamage.
5 Remove the rubber cap and the thermistor attached on top of
the compressor.
6 Remove the crankcase heater.

• Compressorpipingmust beconnectedbybrazing. MAKESUREthatanyammablematerialisnotaround
beforeheatingwithburnerfortheoilinsidethepipingmayameup.
• Donotexposetherefrigerantcycletotheatmosphereforalongperiodtoavoidmoistureordustintothecycle.
Besuretoreplacethecompressorimmediatelyafterremoving.Sealthesuctionanddischargepipeswhenthe
refrigerantcycleisleftunattachedforalongperiod.
• Removethecapofnewcompressorrightbeforethereplacement.Beforemountingthecompressorsealthe
suctionanddischargepipeswithatapetoprotectthecompressorfromdust.Removethetapewhenblazing
thepipe.
• Forpipingat reassemblingensurethatthe compressorterminalnumbersandwiringmarkband codesare
matched.Incorrectwiringnumbersmayresultininverserotationanddamageofthecompressor.
